Influence and Predictive Intelligence

Influence and Predictive Intelligence

Milton Erickson was struck by polio at eight years old and paralyzed. He taught himself to walk again by observing his baby sister. He didn't become a hypnotist despite his paralysis — he became the greatest hypnotist of the twentieth century partly because of it. Because what the paralysis required him to develop — the ability to observe and communicate with systems beyond conscious reach — became his extraordinary capability.

Influence and predictive intelligence are connected at the root: the ability to see what is happening in another person's system before they have consciously registered it, and to communicate in ways that reach that system directly. Antano and Harini have built this into a teachable framework: the NLP Milton Model, the pattern of how Erickson reached people that no one else could reach. This is the foundation of influence that is not manipulation — but genuine connection to what is real in another person.
