A woman was in love with her husband. Her filter was on. Every imperfection passed unregistered. The marriage was beautiful. Then something crossed a threshold. The filter broke. A new one came in. Now she looked back at the exact same marriage and every day had been horrible. She was not lying either time. The filter was different. The reality looked completely different through each one.

Understanding human intentions requires going beyond what people say and even beyond what they believe. The filter through which someone is reading their experience determines every conclusion they draw. The practitioner who can identify and work with the filter rather than the conclusion it produces is working at a fundamentally different level.
