How Children Learn Behaviours from Parents?

He grew up watching his father do certain things and told himself he would never do those things. Years later, he found himself doing the same things. Not because he tried to. Not because he wanted to. Because the unconscious absorbed what was in the environment before his conscious self could object.

Children do not learn from the lessons you teach them. They learn from the states you carry. The memories, the patterns, the emotional responses absorbed at an early age become the baseline for adult behavior. The most effective intervention for a child is the parent's own evolution.
